It's the million-dollar question; can you overdose on CBD? The answer, thankfully, is no. You would need to consume an absurd amount of CBD in order for it to be lethal. In fact, there are no recorded instances of anyone overdosing on CBD, ever.
It's important to start with a small dose of CBD and increase gradually as needed. Most people find that they feel the best when they take between 10 and 20mg of CBD per day.
How Much CBD is Too Much?
So how much CBD is too much? Like we said before, there is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. However, general rule of thumb is to start with a small dose (between 2.5 and 5mg) and increase gradually until you find the dose that works best for you.
It's also important to keep in mind that different methods of consuming CBD will result in different levels of bioavailability—meaning how much of the CBD actually makes it into your system. For example, when you ingest CBD orally (in the form of gummies or capsules), as little as 6% of the CBD will actually make it into your bloodstream. On the other hand, when you inhale vaporized CBD oil (aka vaping), as much as 56% of the CBD will be absorbed into your system.
Start small is the best policy
So, can you overdose on CBD? No. But that doesn't mean that there are no side effects associated with taking too much CBD. If you're thinking about incorporating CBD into your wellness routine, start with a small dose and increase gradually until you find the amount that works best for you. And if you have any questions about taking CBD, be sure to consult with your physician beforehand.
